TRIP OR FREAK - GRATEFUL DEAD - BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY - QUICKSILVER - Halloween Show notoriously entitled "Trip or Freak" - October 31, 1967 at Winterland Auditorium in S.F. - 2nd Printing Quality Serigraph (Silkscreened Poster) - 19 1/2" x 35 3/4" - See page 185, plate 2.183 in the ART OF ROCK for a huge full color image of the original concert poster - This serigraph, the 2nd printing of the poster in a mega / much larger size format, was produced by "Best Comix and Rock Art Gallery" in S.F.... in 1991, shortly before Rick's fatal motorcycle accident, thus Rick only signed a small number of posters himself - Print run was listed on the posters as being limited to 500 - This printing is nearly twice the size of the original concert poster! - My copy is hand signed by Alton Kelley in pencil at the bottom left corner edge, along with the print number & hand embossed Pyramid logo, for authenticity's sake (click on the linked images below to view the closeup of this info as it appears on the actual serigraph) - Pristine A/A- to A- Condition - Inquire for Availability & Current Price

GRATEFUL DEAD - TAJ MAHAL and 14 Northwest acts - 3 days August 21-23, 1969 BULLFROG 2 FESTIVAL near St. Helens, Oregon - First/Only Printing Concert Poster - 14 1/4" x 20 1/2" - Old engraving / illustration of boy with dog, playing pennywhistle in the foreground of an agrarian scene - Old English style lettering above image with ornamental border - Red on textured orange paper in two shades - Two clean 1/4" tears at right margin have been restored from the backside, tack hole at each corner and 3 extra tack holes at top edge, one at bottom center edge, also filled in by restoration though still evident upon close inspection - Several edge areas where tape was moved....easily matted out - A few stains are visible from the backside only - Highly frameable as is! - I've seen two copies in 9+ years of skulking for concert posters in the Portland area - Ultra Mega Rare - Destined to remain one of THE rarest Dead posters - Beautiful B/B+ to B+ Condition - Inquire for Availability & Current Price

GRATEFUL DEAD - 1968 (circa) - First Printing Warner Bros Promotional Poster produced about the time AOXOMOXOA was released - 27" x 21 1/4" - Features close-up black and white photo of the band standing outside with whimsical expressions on their faces ....Kreutzman, Weir (shoulder length hair), Pig Pen (bandana / headband knotted on forehead, looking healthy), Garcia (possibly JUST before the beard), Lesh (collar length hair cut), Hart (with russian hat & van dyke beard) - Only has small Warner Brothers shield in lower left corner & the words "Grateful Dead"....all the rest is photo! - This is the rarer version of this scarce promo poster since it's printed on thicker window card stock - This copy has a long horizontal bend across the middle that has a tiny amount of color flaking (hard to see, especially in a frame), a few tack holes (at corners, one each), a few more bends. Also has some hairline scratches at left area of Kreutzman's shirt - Will look GREAT in a frame as is! A reasonably good copy overall - Beautiful B/B- condition - Inquire for current price & availability

GRATEFUL DEAD - THE SAN FRANCISCO PALACE OF FINE ARTS FESTIVAL - August 30 & 31 through September 1 & 2, 1968 at The San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts - First Printing Festival Poster - 13 9/16" x 23 3/4" - Only the handbills listed the bands which were appearing on the different days of this four day festival and are featured in the Art of Rock book by Paul Grushkin on page 205, plates 2.237 through 2.239, all of which feature the same imagery of the interior of the architecture of the Palace of Fine Arts, though the poster has a silver foil paper surface, it does not feature a listing of bands, since it was a generic poster to advertise the entire festival - The bands which appeared at the event include: THE GRATEFUL DEAD - BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY w/ JANIS JOPLIN - SANTANA - BIG MAMA THORNTON AND THE HOUND DOG BAND featuring HARMONICA GEORGE - H.P. GRATEFUL DEAD - SPIRIT OF CREATION - April 12, 1969 at the University of Utah Union Ballroom in SLC, Utah First Printing concert poster (guaranteed!) - 14 1/2" x 24 1/2" - The event was a "SDS BALL" (See page 382, plate 4.156 in the Art of Rock for full color Reproduction of this image). Richard Taylor artwork - A 2nd printing of this poster was produced decades after the concert and fortunately, the two printings are distinguishable since the reprint has a different background shade of yellow, different dot screen behind central figure) etc. - Mutant copy which has a few areas where the color is interrupted by the printing process, likely some ink or wax, etc. on the roller - This copy has a very light, mild rolling bend at top edge (difficult to detect, very shallow, should flatten under weight of glass, etc.) from exposure to humidity at one point - Ultra Mega Rare - Pristine B+ to B+/A- condition - Inquire for Availability & Current Price
